Exmouth to Budleigh Old Railway Line

5 to 10 miles (rough guide), very easy going, limited seating.

Starting point grid ref: SY006814

The old part of the Avocet line and now part of the National Cycle Network. The Exmouth to Budliegh old railway line is a very pleasant and almost level walk or cycle that takes in views of both fields and woodland along the way. You can do the whole length starting at Phear Park or take approximately 2 miles off by starting at Littleham, and there is also the option of just walking to Littleham and back. Whatever you choose the scenery changes throughout the walk. From Phear Park to Littleham it’s 1.5 miles of easy level walking / cycle path although there is one short steep incline when you reach Bradham Lane and climb to the traffic lights on the main Salterton Road that will take you safely across and allow you to continue further into Littleham and onto Budliegh.

The starting point on Marpool Hill. Grid Ref SY006814

The whole path gets you to the outskirts of Budliegh from where you will join the road network to continue into the town centre and seafront if you wish.

Coming down from Jarvis Close.
The end of the line (Bear Lane) or cycle into Budliegh via road.

If you wish to cycle or walk then the link below will open a Google map in a new tab with a route to the seafront of just over 1.7 miles. More information will be added to this route soon.
